“I’ve been with the family business since 2003. Initially, I managed apprentices and trainees for them through another company. 2009 I transitioned to working directly for Evoke, managing their workshop. By 2013, I had ventured into the sales side of it.”

Shayne’s career journey at Evoke Living Homes highlights the diverse opportunities within the company. From mentoring apprentices to excelling in sales, his journey highlights adaptability and industry passion.

Beyond these roles, Shayne has been deeply involved in various aspects of the business: from manual labor like trench digging, operating bobcats, representing Evoke at trade shows across WA, and presenting to regional Shires, to extensive travel across the state to meet clients (and enjoy local bakeries along the way). He goes above and beyond for his clients, playing a crucial role in designing houses, coordinating trades, hosting events such as Northam Women In Business, engaging with politicians and the Wheatbelt Development Commission, and even showcasing his culinary skills with award-winning scones.

A Day in the Life of Shayne:

“One recent special day stands out. I had organized a visit to a couple’s land with Katherine. We enjoyed scones with jam and tea in fine china. It was a delightful day, filled with laughter and great company. To top it off, the couple shook my hand and decided to buy a house that very day.”

Designing Dream Homes:
“The best design is always the one that makes the customer happy. We’ve had some standout designs, like our double-story houses, a house with a control tower, and the Ocean Retreat for the Gillespie's. We also currently have a house in the yard for Mr. Barrett, who has become a friend of mine; his house features an impressive 1200mm door at the front among other exciting inclusions.”
