Building a home is a big decision—it’s not just about picking a floor plan but creating a space that truly fits your lifestyle. That’s where Katherine Murcott comes in. As a Sales & Design Consultant at Evoke Living Homes, she helps clients navigate the home-building journey with expert advice and a passion for design.

Why Work with Katherine?

With a background in real estate sales, Katherine understands the housing industry but wanted to be more involved in bringing homes to life. That’s why she joined Evoke Living Homes—to help clients create homes that work for their lifestyle, block, and future.

She focuses on understanding how you live and what’s important to you. Whether it’s maximising storage, designing a functional kitchen, or ensuring your home suits your land, she’ll guide you through the process so you can make informed decisions.

Katherine’s Home Design Tips

Mudrooms For rural homes, a mudroom is a game-changer. It keeps dirt out, provides space for boots and gear, and can even double as a laundry area for easy clean-up. A simple addition that makes daily life easier.

Kitchens Need Smart Storage – It’s not just about looks. Deep drawers, a well-organised pantry, and designated appliance storage can make cooking and meal prep effortless.

The Kitchen Triangle – The kitchen work triangle is key to an efficient and functional kitchen. It ensures a practical flow between three key areas—your sink, stove, and fridge. Ideally, these should form a triangle to minimise steps and improve workflow, keeping everything within easy reach while allowing plenty of space to move. We always recommend it for a spacious and practical kitchen that makes everyday life easier.

Design for How You Actually Live – Love cooking? Invest in a well-designed kitchen. Work from home? Create a proper office space. Entertain often? Consider an open-plan layout. It’s easy to get caught up in trends, but your home should work for you, not just look good on paper. Take note of how you use your current space and design accordingly.

A Bit About Katherine

Originally from Toodyay and now based in Northam, Katherine understands what makes a home practical for rural and regional living. She’s also a proud dog mum to Bron, her American Staffy, who basically runs her house!

One of her career highlights is signing her biggest project to date, ELH365, which is now under construction. And while she’s no stranger to the Wheatbelt, attending the Dowerin Field Days with Evoke Living Homes was a whole new experience—busy, fun, and absolutely exhausting.
